The Municipality of Kincardine is reminding residents to make sure they are putting snow safely and not onto the street, roads or sidewalks.
The municipality states while clearing your property of snow can help hinder the safety of others its important to not push, throw or place snow and ice onto the street, road or sidewalk as its illegal.
Dumping snow where it doesn’t belong can pose safety issues for drivers and those on the sidewalks.
Under the Highway Traffic Act its written no person shall deposit snow or ice on a roadway without permission in writing to do so from the Ministry or road authority responsible for the maintenance of the road.
