RIDE Program leads to Drug and Weapons Charges

Driver and Passenger of Vehicle charged with Weapons, Drug and Probation related Charges among others.

Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a ride program on Saturday, January 22nd on Highway 21 in the County of Grey Bruce.

Officers pulled over a driver at approximately 1:45 am and an investigation indicated an outstanding warrant on the accused for failing to comply with court orders.

As a result both the driver and passenger were placed under arrest.

A 26 year old male of Saugeen Shores was charged with a range of offenses including multiple counts of possession of a prohibited firearm, weapon for a dangerous purpose, ammunition and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Other charges include possession of break and enter tools, driving while suspended and possession of cannabis and opioid charges.

The 19 year old female passenger of Kitchener was charged with both occupant related charges for possession of weapons and drug charges along with multiple counts of failure to comply with probation orders.

Both of the accused were held pending a bail hearing with both are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
