Saugeen District Senior Students win recent NII Explore Science Olympics

First of its kind event brought together 11 teams of exceptional high school students from across Bruce & Grey and tested their knowledge of science, problem-solving and collaboration.

Saugeen District Senior School came out victorious at the recently held NII Explore Science Olympics at Georgian College’s Owen Sound Campus.

The first ever Science Olympics brought together 11 teams of exceptional high school students from across Bruce & Grey.

The event tested their knowledge of science, problem-solving and collaboration.

The four grade 12 students from Saugeen District; Peter Alpajaro, Evan Barry, Clara Howe and Jaqueline Fenton, took home the champion belt as well as free entry into he University of Windsor’s Science Olympics next year and $1,000 towards travel & accommodations for the event.

NII Explore was assisted in the event by the University of Windsor, Georgian College and sponsor Bruce Power.
