Saugeen Shores has officially kicked off the start of their 25th anniversary of amalgamation.
The municipality held a special council meeting and reception which commemorated the inaugural council meeting of the town held on January 5th 1999 with past mayors, councilors, CAO’s and others in attendance.
The meeting also included a blessing from Saugeen First Nation Elder Shirley John and remarks from Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson, Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb, former Mayor Mark Kramer and former CAO David Smith.
The town will be in full swing in August for the anniversary celebratory weekend taking place from August 9th-11th.
