Members of the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club earned bronze at the World Lifesaving Championships in Riccone, Italy this weekend.

The team of Shanna Reid and Sarah Ingleton tied for third in the Masters board rescue category for women aged 55-59.

The duo competed against teams from Australia, Spain, Ireland, Great Britain and the United States.

They aren’t the only local athletes competing against the world’s best: Aurora Jacobi, Jie-Lynn Barrett and Eithan Alpaugh will all be competing for Canada when the Youth Lifesaving World Championships begin later this week.
