It has been one week since a violent storm roared through communities along the Lake Huron shoreline.
One of the hardest hit was Saugeen Shores specifically in the Port Elgin area.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau was on the Shoreline Classics Monday morning to give us an update on the clean up efforts.
While the storm was not classified as a tornado, Charbonneau says the storm still left tremendous amount of damage to residential homes and businesses.
He says Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson stopped in to survey the damage and will report back to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing which will then decide on whether the Town is eligible for disaster relief funding.
