The Saugeen Shores Police are investigating an incident of stranger assault that occurred last Wednesday.
Officers responded to reports on the community trail near Trillium Drive around 6:50 pm on October 12th.
An adult female victim was walking alone when she was confronted and assaulted by a male who was not known to her.
A struggle followed and the victim broke free and ran to a nearby street and called police. Officers quickly attend the scene and located the suspect nearby.
A 25-year-old male of Port Elgin faces charges of sexual assault and criminal harassment.
They were held for a bail hearing and released by the court on Thursday.
