Saugeen Shores Police Urging Drivers to be Cautious in Winter Conditions

With snowfall sticking around this time the Saugeen Shores Police Service is urging drivers to take it slowly as road conditions change rapidly.

The area has been hit with a snowfall warning earlier this week with snowfall continuing to build up with temperatures keeping below 0.

For Saugeen Shores police they’ve kept busy this morning already responding to 4 accidents.

Sargent Andy Evans with Saugeen Shores Police says this mostly boils down to drivers not immediately adjusting to the change in road conditions.

“Now we’re experiencing some new snowfall. Drivers are doing what they do normally when the snow first starts and that’s just not driving to the conditions” said Evans.

Evans says minor collisions happening are easily avoidable if drivers just slow down or if they don’t feel comfortable driving in the snow to just stay home.
