The Town of Saugeen Shores voted against including the proposal for the the North Shore Train in the Master Plan processes but are proceeding with the redevelopment of the park.

Council voted against Staff’s recommendation to integrate the proposal into the Master Plan process.

Councilor Bud Halpin stated he wasn’t voting against the trains return itself.

“I’ve said before. I’m not against the train per say. I am quite against converting a third of the park into a pay-for-play area.”

Designs for the master plan will come back to Council for final approval.

The Proponent for the North Shore Train is still able to revisit the topic and submit a revised idea.
