Saugeen Shores Winterhawks open OEHL Season with Win over 4 Wheel Drivers last Saturday

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks opened their first season as part of the Ontario Elite Hockey League last Saturday with a win at home 4 2 over the visiting Milverton Four Wheel Drives.

The team saw goals from Curtis Johnston, Lauchlin Elder, Miles Maclean and Luke Pither in the effort.

The team also saw Assistant Coach Jeff Barfoot get his hair cut in support of Wigs for Kids, a charity that makes wigs for young cancer patients.

The initiative raised just over $1,500 in support of the cause.

Jeff’s hair was cut by Kendall from Sonas Hair & Esthetics as well as Jeff’s kids Marisa and Kirby.

The team is next in action at home at the Plex this Friday, October 13th versus the Tavistock Royals. Puck drop is 8:30 pm.
