The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has been made aware of an attempted scam involving the fire department.
In a statement the township says individuals are calling residents posing as the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department asking for donations of $500 by credit card or e-transfer.
The town says this is a scam as the fire department does not solicit donations nor would they ever ask for money in this way.
OPP have since been notified on this incident and if you do receive a call like this to never share any personal or financial information.
