School Board Gets Funding for New Growth School

The Bluewater District School Board has gotten the approval of $17.8 million from the Ministry of Education in Capital Priorities Program for a new growth school in Port Elgin.

The new school will host an additional 409 pupil from junior kindergarten to Grade 6 to complement Northport Elementary School and Port Elgin-Saugeen Central.

BWDSB Chair Jane Thomson says they are pleased and excited to get the news adding staff have been diligently working to ensure a successful outcome.

More information on timelines will continue as they develop.
