There’s a silent auction underway to help Goderich Coldest Night of the Year reach their goal of raising $100,000 to help the local unhoused population.

Organized by Bernice Glenn and Cheryl Dunn, proceeds from each item will go back toward the United Way Perth Huron’s Homeless Initiative.

Goderich is around 80% of the way to their fundraising aim with a week to go until the winter walk.

Glenn, who has personally raised over $13,000 says this is another way to get support for the cause.

“Keep an eye on the Werth’s Shoes window, that’s where the items will all be displayed,” she says. “We’re excited about that, that’s something new that’s never happened before.”

You can find the auction here.

Coldest night of the year will be held across the region on Feb. 25, with walks in Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Wingham and Goderich.
