The Special Investigations Unit has cleared officers of any wrongdoing after a 38 year old was injured when fleeing from police.
On April 2nd, police were looking for a man behind a carjacking and string of auto thefts in the Stratford area who stole a pickup, evaded police and crash near Westford in South Bruce.
The man suffered multiple rib fractures and a broken back.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says the man fled of his volition to avoid arrest going up to speeds of 110km through a farmers field and there was no evidence of police pursuit or any additional force or strikes being used and the man himself attributed his injuries to the crash.
