The Special Investigations Unit says there are no grounds to believe an OPP officer committed any wrongdoing in a drug overdose suffered by a 35 year old in custody in Clinton.
On March 31st, the man was outstanding warrants who was searched and brought to the Clinton detachment.
The man was seen hunched over the sink and toilet area who was removed from his cell with a search done and officers found a plastic bag with narcotic residue in his sock.
The man later become unresponsive and suffered a seizure.
Officers used naloxone and called paramedics.
SIU Director Joeseph Martino says the searches by officers appeared to be thorough and acted quickly to provide medical care.
