As part of the South Bruce Nuclear Exploration Forum held today and again tomorrow in Teeswater various stakeholders in the project spoke on the benefits of the project to the South Bruce area.

One person who spoke at noon Tuesday was Laurie Swami, President and CEO of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.

She provided among many things a description of the long-term employment benefits to the Teewaster and South Bruce area and beyond.

“If sited here it would result in investments in South Bruce and the surrounding regions, and across Canada. It means direct, and indirect high value jobs into the next century. Jobs for your children and your grand children”.

Swami predicted that if Teeswater was selected for the DGR it would create up to 700 jobs in the South Bruce area.

Residents are set to receive a Summary of the Socio-economic Community Studies and Peer Review Findings on the project.

They are delivering a copy to every residence in South Bruce.

The Open House for the public set for tonight in Teeswater from 4 to 6:30 pm.
