The Town of South Bruce Peninsula voted in favour of halving the development charges for a new Community Living Housing Project in Wiarton.

Council approved a 50% reduction in fees for the new build at their Aug. 18 meeting. The reduction amounts to $38,850 in savings for Bruce Peninsula Community Living.

Council is also considering a grant with a limit of $7,000 to help with the building permit fee.

They hope to begin construction on the proposed development, which includes an office, meeting space and independent living units, this year.
