South Bruce Peninsula sees Councillor Caleb Hull acclaimed to Deputy Mayor role

Council staff will now prepare a declaration of vacancy for Hull’s now vacant Council seat.

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has seen Councillor Caleb Hull acclaimed to the vacant role of Deputy Mayor at their Council Meeting this morning.

He replaces former Deputy Mayor Jay Kirkland who was moved up to role of Mayor at the previous council meeting.

In addition to being Deputy Mayor, Hull serves on the Board of Management of the Wiarton BIA, the Wiarton & District Agricultural Society, the William Wilfred Campbell Appreciation Society & Arts Festival and has facilitated community rec volleyball for over 7 years.

He provided a short comment following his appointment.

“Thanks for the confidence. I will do my best to serve in this capacity. Thanks for the trust.”

Council staff will now prepare a declaration of vacancy for Hull’s now vacant Council seat.

It is expected to be presented at the next council meeting and the process of filling it will be outlined.
