The Southampton 150th Anniversary Legacy Fund has pledge nearly $100,000 to the Town of Saugeen Shores in support of the Southampton Cenotaph Rejuvenation project.
The Legacy Fund came from the 150th anniversary celebrations back in 2008, ending with a surplus thanks to support and community participation.
Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau says this cenotaph project is all about remembrance, respect and community pride and they are grateful for the support from the legacy fund.
The Cenotaph Rejuvenation project includes enhancements to the High and Huron Street intersection to honour veterans of Southampton and Saugeen First Nation.
