As summer weather arrives, Bruce County is making sure residents take efforts to stay cool and safe during extreme heat.

High humidity and afternoon highs can put people at risk and affects everyone as heat illness can start quickly and become life threatening.

Signs of heat related illness includes a high body temperature, confusion or poor coordination, dizziness or fainting and very hot or red skin.

Ray Lux, Bruce County’s Emergency Management Coordinator says knowing the risks of extreme heat and preparing to stay cool will help you and your family enjoy a safer summer.
