Steve and Mary’s on the Square has pledged support towards the Goderich Memorial Community Centre.
As the centre undergoes renovations and addressing operating costs, Steve and Mary’s donated $10,000 for the work, bringing the committee closer to their $750,000 goal.
Constructed in 1949, the Goderich Memorial Arena opened as a community hub for hockey, figure skating and community events but in 2018 the ice was removed, though the arena was still used as a community centre when last year, the arena was closed due to its age and lack of use.
The committee hopes with fundraising, they’ll be able to revitalize the Goderich Memorial Community Centre and get it reopened.
