The Town of Goderich Council recognized Bernice Glenn at Monday’s Council Meeting.
The recognition comes after the Coldest Night of the Year event in the community raised 123 percent of its goal and a total of over $123,000 in support of the Huron Homeless Initiative.
Deputy Mayor Trevor Bazinet had this to say as part of Bernice’s recognition Monday.
“Bernie over the years has done a tremendous amount of work over the years raising funds. It’s one thing to raise funds and another to advocate. Bernie constantly advocates for the Coldest Night of the Year, Homelessness and Mental Health.”
The Town of Goderich has an “Out of the Cold” homeless shelter that runs during the colder months of the year.
It is set to close for the season the night of April 14th.
