The Town of Saugeen Shores are forming a campaign team to help raise funds for Phase Two of the Lamont Sports park.

It will be co-chaired by Vice-Deputy Mayor Mike Myatt and community volunteer Rob Stanley.

The 14-member committee will also have town staff, representatives from all levels of baseball, fastball, and slo-pitch, and other municipal officials, and community members.

The goal is to raise $1 Million and Mayor Luke Charbonneau said in a statement that he is confident the committee will reach that target.

Phase Two will include the construction two additional playing fields.

Phase One of the park, which will consist of four diamonds and a playground located at the south end of Port Elgin, is expected to be completed by Spring of 2023.
