Traffic Safety Labour Day Long Weekend Results are in for South Bruce

A total of 94 charges were laid with 80 for speeding, 2 for stunt driving and 2 for no seatbelt worn

All available members of the South Bruce OPP took part in the Labour Day Long Weekend Road Safety Week campaign that ran from September 3 to 6, 2021.

The Big 4 causal factors in serious collisions were being focused on. Impaired, distracted and aggressive driving as well as failing to wear a seatbelt.

There were 94 charges laid during the initiative including 80 were speeding, 2 for stunt driving and 2 for not wearing a seatbelt.

Over the long weekend there were 3 motor vehicle collisions. One was fatal, one was minor and the other had no injuries reported.

The South Bruce OPP say even though the initiative has ended they continue to patrol area roads and stop drivers that take chances with safety.
