Traffic Stop Leads to Weapon and Drug Seizure

A traffic stop has led to drug and weapons charges against multiple people. On April 18th South Bruce OPP stopped to check a vehicle on Durham Street in Kincardine.

While speaking with those inside the vehicle officers observed drugs in plain view. A search led to the arrests and seizure of quantity of drugs and prohibited weapons.

As a result charges were laid against multiple individuals;

A 42-year-old, of no fixed address with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Fail to comply with probation (2 counts)

A 30-year-old woman from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)

A 34-year-old man from the Municipality of Meaford with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)

A 23-year-old, from Saugeen First Nation with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 cou nts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

A 39-year-old, from the Town of South Bruce Peninsula with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

All were held in Walkerton pending a bail hearing.
