Saugeen Shores Police Service arrested an unwelcome couch-crasher this Sunday, after a 25-year-old man pulled a B&E to catch some Z’s.

Police responded to a call of a break and enter in progress around noon on Sept. 4 in the 800 block of Bricker Street in Port Elgin.

The property owners told responding officers that when they arrived home, they noticed the side door was open and an unknown man was asleep on the couch.

Officers entered and arrested the Saugeen Shores resident, who was known to police.

The man faced charges for break and enter, possession of stolen property and mischief under $5000.
