Unemployment rate droped 0.2 percent in Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region Last Month

The biggest losses for February were in manufacturing which lost 1,600 followed by Construction at 100 positions.

The Unemployment Rate increased slightly last month for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic region inching up 0.2 percent to 4.6% in February.

The Provincial unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5%, both unadjusted for seasonality.

Overall net employment decreased by 1,700 with 2,100 full-time losses and 400 part-time gains. The region’s labour force decreased from 162,300 to 160,700.

The biggest losses for February were in manufacturing which lost 1,600 followed by Construction at 100 positions.
