United Way Bruce-Grey launches 19th Year of its Backpack Program

The United Way Bruce-Grey is entering the 19th year of its Backpack Program.

It is intended at providing essential school supplies to students in need.

Throughout the years, the program has proven to be an invaluable resource for families struggling to provide their children with necessary school supplies.

By being given a fully stocked backpack, students have what they need to success for the school year, their mental health improvise knowing that they will not be without and could face an unfortunately situation of bullying.

In the last nearly 20 years the program has distributed over 32,000 backpacks, and have saved over $2.2 million dollars in school supply expense.

With the cost of supplies & backpacks increasing by nearly 35% over the past 5 years their fundraising goal for this year is set at $80,000.

To help reach the goal they are asking everyone to donate online.
