United Way Bruce Grey is preparing for a busy season ahead with the return of the Backpack Program.
The program has grown since it first started in 2005 who last year served 2686 students, an increase of 975 per cent since the program began.
The Backpack Program provides backpacks and other essential school supplies for students across Bruce and Grey Counties.
2024 saw the highest demand coming from high school students highlighting the growing need for older youth.
It’s expected the program this year will cost $80,000 with support being encouraged to support students in the local communities.
