United Way of Bruce Grey’s Backpack Program is back

The United Way of Bruce Grey’s Backpack Program returns for its 18th year helping kids stock up for the start school.

Executive Director Francesca Dobbyn says the program has distributed over 30,000 fully stocked backpacks over the past 17 years, with a request for over 2,000 backpacks annually.

The program provides backpacks for 4 grade levels: primary, intermediate, senior and high school. Inflation has impacted the program in recent years, with the cost of accessing now $40.

Parents can call 211 to register for the program.
