Goderich Mayor Trevor Bazinet says the town is getting a veterans crosswalk for 2027.
Bazinet’s comments come as he responds to multiple asking why the town doesn’t have a crosswalk honouring veterans on the Square.
Bazinet says council some time ago did approve the crosswalk, recommending the Legion executive and members work on a design and location.
The plan is to have the crosswalk on the Square but as Bazinet says there isn’t much point right now to install one just for it be dug up and a final topcoat go over top of it.
The Legion has selected the East Street intersection to have the crosswalk placed.
