The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance announced the temporary closure of the Wingham and District Hospital emergency department this Saturday evening.
The ED will close at 3 p.m. on Feb. 18, reopening Sunday, Feb. 19 at 7 a.m.
The closure is due to staffing shortages.
Patients in need of immediate medical attention are asked to call 911. Ambulance bypass will reroute patients to the closest hospital, including Listowel, Goderich and Clinton.
