Women’s Centre Grey Bruce receives $59,000 Trillium Grant to Offset Pandemic Challenges

Awarded last year, a portion of the funds received by Women's Centre were used to hire a temporary cook to address service gaps, ran online cooking skills classes and permitted upgrading of shelter appliances.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker met with representatives from the Women’s Centre of Grey Bruce to hear how the $59,000 grant from the Resilient Communities Fund has helped the organization continue to serve women in the community.

The Fund was developed to help non-profits rebuild and recover from impacts of the pandemic.

Awarded last year, a portion of the funds received by Women’s Centre were used to hire a temporary cook to address service gaps.

This also permitted the shelter to offer online kitchen skills classes to women staying in the shelter and the remaining funds wil upgrade existing shelter appliances which include a double stove and two glass door refrigeratior.
