The Western Ontario Wardens Caucus have welcomed the Keeping Energy Costs Down Act announced by Energy Minister Todd Smith.
The WOWC say the legislation is critical to the long term viability and success of Western Ontario and will aim to keep construction costs down while providing an approach towards a net zero energy system in Ontario.
In a release Warden Glen McNeil, chair of the WOWC says modernizing these regulations will reduce delays and costs for economic development initiatives including new industries seeking to touchdown in Ontario and create jobs, transit projects, housing development and residential and business customer connections.
