Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb and MPP Lisa Thompson were joined by the Chicken Farmers of Ontario, Yorkshire Valley Farms for a donation of locally grown chicken to the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre.

1400 kilograms of chicken was donated which will contribute to over 12,000 meals for families and individuals in need.

Thanks to the continued support of the Ontario chicken farming community, since 2015, the CFO Cares: Farmers to Food Banks program has donated over eight million chicken meals. Proteins, like chicken, are among some of the most-needed items at food banks and we want to ensure that every Ontarian can access safe, healthy, nutritious, locally-grown chicken.” said Andrea Veldhuizen, CFO Board Director for CFO Cares & District 4

The donation was made possible by the Chicken Farmers of Ontario, Farmers to Food Banks program which enables chicken farmers to donate their chickens to food banks across Ontario.
