Huron Perth Student Transportation announced it is changing it practice when it comes to school bus cancellations versus delays when it comes to fog.
It sees buses in the Avon Maitland District and Huron Perth Catholic District School Boards no longer operate in the event of fog in the morning.
They will operate in the afternoon as schedule, assuming weather permits.
The change was done following feedback of support from families in the region and is said to provide certainty to area families, consistency in the school day schedule, elimination of issues of last-minute cancellations due to fog not lifting and aligns with neighbouring school boards.
