The Township of Huron-Kinloss are getting provincial funding to help them reopen the Point Clark Lighthouse.

$117,100 is coming from the Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund grant.

The funding will be used to transform the visitor experience at the Lighthouse museum.

In a news release, the Township says those enhancements should be ready for the 2023 tourist season.

The museum had been closed since the pandemic began in 2020.

The Township says that allowed staff to review and research ways to improve the quality of the exhibits.

A fundraising campaign is underway for the revitalization of the lighthouse.

More information can be found by going to the Township of Huron Kinloss’ website.
