ALPR System Results in Drug Charges

Grey Bruce OPP have arrested a 28 year old after an ALPR Alerted officers.

On August 9th at 4:25pm, Grey Bruce OPP was patrolling on Highway 21 near Chesley Lake Road when an Automated Licence Plate Recognition System alerted a suspended driver.

During a traffic stop, police learned the driver was not the owner of the vehicle and had a prohibited licence.

The driver was arrested and a search of the vehicle found cannabis, methamphetamine, fentanyl and ecstasy.

The 28 year old of Saugeen Shores was charged with Driving Under Suspension, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Failure to Comply with Probation Order.

A 34 year old of Huron Kinloss was also given Possession charges.

Both were held pending a bail hearing.
