Bervie Women’s Institute Celebrates 115th Aniversary of Local Branch

The Bervie Women’s Institute celebrated its 1 hundred 15th anniversary of the branch on June 1st.

As part of the celebration Mildred Griffith was recognized for being a Branch Manager for 75 years.

Betty Jean White gave a tribute to Mildred and told of some of her activities within the branch and the community.

She was presented with a crystal vase and a certificate from the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario by President Michelle Phillippi, as well as a dozen yellow roses and a card from the President of the Bernvie Women’s Institute Janice Hewitt and a certificate of achievement from the President of the Bruce County District Women’s Institute, Ellen Waye.

Two organizations near to Mildred’s heart also received donations including $20,000 to the Huron Shores Hospice.

The second was to the Kincardine Community Health Care Foundation also for $20,000.
