A Brockton man is facing charges in connection to a disturbance in the Muskoka area that resulted in a dog being killed by police.

Bracebridge OPP were called to a motel in Bracebridge last Tuesday (28th) night around 9.

Officers arrived and made several attempts to arrest the accused each time was met with resistance.

It was at the time that investigators say two large dogs attacked the arresting officers.

They say one dog was subdued with the use of a taser, the other was still aggressive after several attempts and was shot dead out of concern for the officer’s safety.

A 40-year-old man will be appearing in a Bracebridge court on March 8th.
