With all four of Bruce B’s operating units removed from service, the generatings planned Vacuum Building Outage began on Wednesday at Bruce Power.

The VBO represents an investment of $190 million over less than three weeks to ensure maintenance and inspection work can be done.

Adrian London, Vice-President of Bruce B says bringing all of the stations operating units offline at once is a large undertaking and the team has been planning this for years to ensure it can be done so safely.

The Vacuum Building Outage removes around 15 per cent of the capacity available to the independent electricity system operator grid.
