Bruce County advise of Pesticide Use on County Roadways starting June 2nd

The activities to control noxious weeds around the County should be completed by July 31, 2022.

Bruce County advised residents that it intends to control noxious weeds around the County roadside with the application of pesticides which they advise are registered under the pest control act.

The roadsides impacted are BR1, BR2, BR3, BR4, BR6, BR6E, BR7, BR9, BR10, BR11, BR 12, BR15, BR19, BR20, BR22, BR23, BR28, BR30, BR86, and Grey Bruce Line.

The pesticides being used include:

  • Navius FLEX Herbicide (Reg. #30922) containing active Ingredients Metsulfuron – methyl and Aminocyclopyrachlor.
  • The Surfactant Hasten NT Spray Adjuvant (Reg.#28277) containing active Ingredients methyl and ethyl oleate (esterified vegetable oil).
  • Esplanade SC Herbicide (Reg. #31333) containing active Ingredients Indaziflam.
  • Roundup Weathermax with Transorb 2 Technology Liquide Herbicide (Reg.#27487) active Ingredients Glyphosate (Present as Potassium Salt).

The activities they say are covered under the Public Works Exemption of the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban to the promotion of public health and safety.

Spraying will commence on June 2nd and, weather permitting, will conclude July 31, 2022.
