Bruce Power has made a donation of $1 million towards a new youth wellness project which will benefit people aged 12-25 across Bruce, Grey, Huron and Perth Counties.

The Well Community Collective is an initiative committed to improve youth mental health and well-being.

The creation of youth hubs will make spaces designed to provide safe, supportive and stigma free environments for youth to access care, connect with peers and build brighter futures.

Shannon McGavin, Well Community Collective Executive Director says there are many advantages to these youth hubs for locals.

“Youth are able to walk in and get all the services whether its mental health, substance use, employment, housing, education and primary care all in one spot.” said McGavin.

The Well is currently raising $6 million to fund integrated youth wellness hubs in Kincardine, Owen Sound, Exeter and Stratford with plans to expand in other regions.
