Over 100 Indigenous students from several schools across the Bluewater District School Board area visited the BWDSB Education Centre last Thursday for an uplifting an empowering day of learning offering by the organization Turtle Concepts.
Resonating messages from the 2023 Indigenous Student Forum focused on the importance of staying positive, staying true to yourself, and being proud and confident as Indigenous People.
The team from Turtle Concepts shared their personal stories, backgrounds, educational pursuits and ways in which each defied the research and statistics to inspire the youth in attendance.
There was also breakout sessions, where smaller groups of students had a chance to engage in open conversations with Turtle Concept members.
