Acute care beds are being brought back to the Chesley hospital.

South Bruce Grey Health Centre announced that they will reopen 4 beds and begin admitting acute patients starting on Monday.

In a news release, the hospital says with the number of alternate level of care or ALC patients being discharged from the hospital, the capacity is now there to return of acute care service.

The acute beds were changed in response to the number of COVID patients being admitted to hospital back in December.

14 beds will remain in use for ALC and senior care.
