Local Bruce County Couple Makes Donation to Georgian Nursing Program

Georgian College will begin offering an Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree at it’s Owen Sound and Barrie campuses starting in September.

A local Bruce County couple have shown their support for Nursing with a generous donation to Georgian College.

John Reauburn grew up in Chesley and his wife has lived in the area with him for the past 22 years. They both decided to give back to a local initiative after they attended called “The Rounds” in December hosted by the College.

They decided to chose to support the “Frontline Support: Health-care Heroes Closer to Home” campaign with a pledge of $100,000.

John said of the donation that it is the right thing to do and that they like the idea of bringing a nursing degree to the Owen Sound area after all these years.

The two were impressed by the realism of the simulation manikins that students will be using, the nursing expertise and passion of the facility.

The Minister of Colleges and Universities, Jill Dunlop, announced that Georgian College will begin offering an Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree at it’s Owen Sound and Barrie campuses starting in September.
