Current Member of Provincial Parliament for the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Riding, Rick Byers, issues a statement this afternoon on yesterday’s passing of former MPP Bill Murdoch.

In the statement, he says that Murdoch was an extraordinarily active and dedicated member of the Grey Bruce community.

He later added that Bill has left a great legacy to the community, that includes supporting local music, helping creating and build the Grey Bruce Music Hall of Fame and hosting radio shows for many years.

He closed by thanking Bill for his extraordinary dedication and service to the community, adding it will long be cherished and remembered.

Byers is newly elected to the Provincial Legislature to the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound riding.

He replaced former MPP Bill Walker who retired this year after replacing Murdoch in office in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound back in 2011.
