The Maitland Conservation Authority issued a flood watch this afternoon they say due to the risk of ice jams in the Lower Maitland River, including Saltford and the mouth of the Nine Mile River in Port Albert.

They say there are potential for jams to form at any major crossings, culverts and river bends upstream of major outlets. They say they are unpredictable and bring the risk of flooding to lower lying structures and roadways.

The watch will be in effect until Monday, February 21st.
