Formosa Country Christmas kicked off last night, but if you didn’t get a chance to see it, you’ve still got the whole weekend to take in the town-wide display.

For the fourth year now, Formosa is lit up for a 3.5 km drive-through Christmas display that finishes with a visit with Santa.

Admission is by donation and Carl Zettel, chairman of country Christmas, says it goes back into the community.

“The fundraising is for a lot of the infrastructure,” he says. “We’re still buying a lot of lights but we are giving to the food bank this year, to the hospices and to the medical clinic in Teeswater, so as we get extra funds, we’re funnelling that into the charities in the area.”

County Christmas runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
