Fuel Theft in Culross Township results in Search Warrant Being Executed

As a result police seized quantity of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl with an estimated value of the substances at $25,500 along with other recovered stolen property with estimated value of over $200,000

In a follow-up to a report of a fuel theft being reported from a property alone Patrick Street in Huron East on June 8th just before 5 am a search warrant was executed on a rural property on Concession 2 in Culross Township.

A white cube van reportedly involved in the fuel theft and was later reported at 5:50 am the same day to be involved in an attempted vehicle theft in Teeswater.

Members of the Huron County OPP located the suspect vehicle t the site of the eventual location where the search warrant was executed. Investigators received information that the suspects had access to firearms.

Members of the West Region OPP Tactic & Rescue, Emergency Response Team, Canine, Aviation, Street Crimes, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units and Huron County OPP assisted the South Bruce OPP with the investigation.

As a result of the execution of the warrant, police seized a quanity of methamphetamine and fentanyl with an estiamted value of $25,500.

Officers also removed a large quanity of stolen property including:

  • Ford F350
  • Ford F450 Cargo Van
  • Ford Excursion
  • Pontiac Firebird
  • Sea-Doo Boat
  • Utility Trailer
  • Can-Am All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)
  • Yamaha ATV
  • Suzuki dirt bike
  • Ski-Doo snow mobile
  • KTM dirt bike
  • Car hauler trailer
  • Salem camper trailer
  • Brass Knuckles/Folding Knife
  • Six Pelican Kayaks

The combined value of the recovered stolen property is estimated to be $211,235.

The investigation is continuing.
